Solar panels for your own home - connection and deploying have been made effortless for the producer

Käyttöönoton jälkeen paneelit alkavat tuottamaan sähköä välittömästi.
The rays of the early spring sun hit the yard and make you think... Could we also have solar panels? They are easy to acquire and very convenient to connect to the electrical network. At least that's not why you should put the brakes on the purchase of panels!

Self-sufficient solar power production is increasing, and more and more buildings can be spotted with one panel or more. Caruna's customers have also distinguished themselves in their solar panel investments, as there are already more than 12,000 solar power producers in our network.

You can order pre-installed solar panels suitable for your home

Purchasing panels is easy. You don't need to design, lift or attach panels, because in addition to installation, all of these are handled by the supplier. Many panel packages also include maintenance.

"It is a good idea to start purchasing panels by mapping your own situation. In general, all roof areas are suitable for solar panels. Panels have also been installed on the ground if the conditions are more favourable than on the roof", says Laura Sohlman, Customer Experience Manager at Caruna.

Agile connection and deploying - installer's notice and electricity contract are sufficient

The popular equipment of detached houses up to 10 kilowatts can be connected to the network right away. The connectivity of equipment over 10 kilowatts should be checked with Caruna before purchasing panels.

Once the installer has installed the panels, they notify Caruna that the new system has been tested and is ready for deploying.

There is one important condition for the deploying of equipment - today the contract for the sale of electricity from the production surplus is mandatory for all production equipment.

"If there is no agreement, the deployment of panels will have to be put on hold. The easiest way to make a contract is to contact your current electricity supplier, but you can also compare contracts and sellers in the sahkonhinta.fi service," says Maria Kinnunen, Caruna's Process Manager for small-scale production.

In order to make the contract, you need the production location code, which we will send by SMS when the installer's notification has arrived and been processed.

Based on a carefully completed notification, we check that the production can be connected to the electricity network without unexpected problems. When a contract has been made on the sale of surplus electricity, we will send the customer permission to connect the equipment by SMS.

"After the connection permit, the production equipment can be taken into use, and the panels will start producing electricity immediately. After this, you can monitor the amount of your own production and consumption in Caruna+", Sohlman hints.

The wallet of a small-scale generator is grateful for netting

Consumption and production are measured by the same meter and netted on an hourly basis for almost all small-scale solar power systems in residential buildings.

"During the hour, any excess production that is not used and is transferred to the distribution network reduces the distribution bill for the small-scale generator by the same amount. If the electricity consumption during the hour is lower than the excess production, the electricity retailer will compensate for the excess production", Kinnunen explains.
