The customer must provide Caruna with free and delay-free access to the metering cabinet and equipment for maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair work (Connection Terms LE2019 section 8.4).
Implementing the lock
Detached houses and other individual buildings
The primary option is to place the main switchboard in an easily accessible area, such as outdoors, secured with a triangle key lock.
Housing companies, industrial sites, commercial premises, hospitals, fenced properties, telecom masts and pumping stations, in-house substations and customer substations
Alternatively, the customer can install a key safe for the route key for Caruna’s use. The key safe must be easily accessible without ladders or other tools.
Access to locked areas can also be arranged by the customer, for example, through an on-call maintenance service ordered by the customer. Access contact details must be provided to Caruna no later than during the meter installation.
Lock systems to be used
In new or renovated sites, Caruna uses the iLOQ S50 locking system based on electromechanical NFC technology.
A key safe for the locking system can be purchased from any iLOQ locksmith, but it must be programmed and linked to Caruna’s register by BLC Turva Oy.
We do not recommend locking metering cabinets with a separate padlock. The customer is responsible for providing access upon request if a padlock has been installed.
