Subscribe to power cut notifications - Caruna Sähkövahti

Activate the free Sähkövahti service to receive messages about unexpected power cuts and planned maintenance outages in Caruna's medium-voltage network. We send messages automatically, unless the power cut is short — lasting no more than three minutes. Once you’ve received the message, you can be sure that we are aware of the outage.

The Sähkövahti messaging service for fault situations is available to you as soon as you subscribe to it or are added to the service when moving house. If you wish, you can receive notifications at multiple phone numbers or email addresses.

If you don’t have Sähkövahti, we’ll send advance notice of planned maintenance outages in electricity distribution to your postal address.

It’s a good idea to keep your contact details up to date to ensure the messages reach you. You can easily update them in Caruna+.

Sähkövahti also works well for business use – you can add several contact details as recipients of the notifications.

How to start receiving power cut notifications

You can activate Sähkövahti at any time in Caruna+. If you sign a new electricity contract, we’ll automatically include you in the messaging service. We’ll confirm this with a text message sent to the number you provided to your electricity supplier.

How Sähkövahti works

You’ll receive notifications about unexpected power outages and planned work interruptions in the medium-voltage network via text message or email. We do not send messages about short outages that last only a few minutes.

  • Other members of your household can also receive the notifications on their own mobile number or email address. You can, for example, add your house sitter as a recipient when you’re away from home.
  • If a planned power outage is cancelled or the schedule changes, we’ll notify you through Sähkövahti as well.

Cancelling your subscription

If you don’t want to receive power cut alerts, you can cancel your subscription in Caruna+ or by contacting our customer service department.
