Caruna and Prysmian sign EUR 40 million agreement
The contract was tendered as a public procurement process in accordance with the Act on Public Procurement in Special Sectors.
The agreement covers both of Caruna's network companies. The value of the contract is approximately EUR 40 million, and it includes cable deliveries of around 4,500 kilometers during the years 2025-2027. The agreement can be extended by two option years, bringing the total value of the contract to almost EUR 80 million, and the total length of the cable to nearly 10,000 kilometers during the years 2025-2029.
Caruna's cables are manufactured at Prysmian's Pikkala factory.
"Caruna chose Prysmian as the contract supplier due to its high quality level, delivery reliability, cost-efficiency, and punctual service. Caruna and Prysmian have been cooperating extensively since 2015," says Mervi Haukilahti, Purchasing Director at Caruna.
During the long cooperation, Prysmian has delivered approximately 17,000 kilometers of underground cables for low, medium, and high voltage networks to Caruna, which is almost 15 times the length of Finland from end to end, with a total value of nearly EUR 140 million.
The cooperation with Prysmian Group Finland Oy strengthens Caruna's ability to offer high-quality and cost-effective solutions for network infrastructure development.
