Caruna’s Electricity Network Development Plan has now been published. Caruna customers can review the development plan for their own area and then share their views in the customer survey. The customer consultation is open 30 April–31 May 2026.
We will significantly develop Caruna’s electricity network in the coming years. Areas with sufficient electricity network capacity have a clear advantage: they can attract investments, jobs and economic growth. Timely network investments help ensure that projects in the area can proceed as planned. At the same time, we strengthen security of supply and reliability of delivery: when the network is developed in good time, everyday electricity distribution remains reliable even in exceptional situations.
The Electricity Network Development Plan is a statutory public plan published every two years on how the electricity network will be developed in the coming years. In the development plan, we outline our long-term plans for developing the electricity network and what measures Caruna has planned and how they may affect your area. You will receive information, among other things, about:
- Why is the electricity system undergoing transformation?
- How do the timing of electricity consumption and variations in network load affect the electricity network?
- How does network development support investments and growth in the area?
- How are security of supply and reliability of delivery ensured in electricity network development?
