We are adding Kivra, a free and easy-to-use digital mail service, as a new delivery channel for electricity distribution invoices.
Second part of Caruna Oy's price increase to take effect from 1 August 2023
As cost increases have continued, Caruna will implement the second part of the projected price increase from 1 August 2023 in Caruna Oy. The price increase was split into two parts to mitigate the impact of the increases on customers, especially given the high energy costs in winter. The first part of the price increase took effect from 1 January 2023.

Jyrki Tammivuori appointed CEO of Caruna as of 13 May 2022
Caruna’s Board of Directors has appointed Jyrki Tammivuori, M.Sc (Econ) CEO of Caruna as of 13 May, 2022. Tammivuori has been working for Caruna since 2015, first as CFO. Since 2018 Tammivuori has held the position of CFO and deputy CEO at Caruna. Tammivuori was appointed Acting CEO of Caruna in March 2022.
More than half of Finns would choose a hybrid or fully electric vehicle as their next car – the pace of the energy transition is accelerating
A citizens' survey shows a clear trend among consumers: more than half (55%) of Finns would choose a hybrid or fully electric vehicle as their next car. People living in South Finland and people aged 25–44 would choose a hybrid or fully electric car more than other age groups. The figures are revealed by a citizens' survey commissioned by electricity distribution company Caruna.
Ilpo grabbed himself an electric Jopo bike by switching to Caruna e-invoices
In the autumn, we encouraged our customers to swap paper-based invoices for environmentally friendly e-invoices, and we held a prize draw for everyone who made the switch. The top prize was a trendy Helkama e-Jopo bike.
Caruna ready to net small-scale production
The new amendment to the Government Decree allows hourly netting of small-scale production and consumption. This means that Caruna will automatically compensate for production that is not used in a one-hour period in the small-scale producer's distribution invoice.
Electricity solutions for specific needs: Cultivation with grow lighting in greenhouses uses a lot of electricity for the needs of growing
In Finland, the growing season is naturally short, but by using grow lighting, Finnish crops can be produced year round. Lighting that provides strength to growth is the biggest electricity user in a greenhouse, and annual usage can easily reach tens of thousands of megawatt hours. Electricity for the Juntti market garden will soon be delivered via their own Caruna primary substation
A carbon-neutral future is the common goal of Espoo and Caruna – cooperation agreement signed
The City of Espoo and electricity distribution company Caruna Espoo Oy signed an agreement on strategic cooperation on March 31, 2021. The aim of the cooperation is to support Espoo's growth and carbon-neutrality targets with a strong electricity network that meets future energy needs, enabling clean energy solutions for Espoo residents and companies.
