Are you planning to fell trees near a power line? First, contact a professional arborist or logger. We help ensure that tree felling can be carried out safely.
Do you need tree felling assistance near a power line?
For safety reasons, tree felling should not be carried out independently near power lines. If you are planning to fell trees on your property near overhead power lines, always contact a professional logger first. You can obtain contact details for loggers, for example, from your local forest management association.
Requesting tree felling assistance
How tree felling assistance works
The logger assesses whether the trees can be felled safely.
The logger contacts Caruna’s customer service no later than three weeks before the planned felling.
We grant permission by phone for trees located near low-voltage lines.
If protecting the power line requires special measures
Primarily, trees are felled safely using methods such as winching the tree away from the line, climbing felling techniques, or using a lifting platform.
If the logger determines that the trees cannot be felled safely using these methods, we will assess the possibility of temporarily lowering the power line during the work.
Lowering the power line is generally considered a last resort to ensure safe tree felling.
Tree felling near high-voltage lines
If trees are located near a high-voltage line (a pole with three conductors), we will send an installer to the site for the duration of the work.
Pricing, responsibilities and possible damages
During normal working hours, tree felling assistance requiring a technician is provided free of charge. Outside normal working hours, the service is always chargeable.
If authorised tree felling causes damage to the electricity network, we will not charge for repairs. Any damage caused by unauthorised tree felling will be charged to the party responsible for the damage. Damage to buildings or other property is always the customer's responsibility.
Tree felling is always carried out by a qualified forestry professional chosen by the customer.
