Connection rates

You will receive the right to connect to the electricity network when you sign a connection contract and pay the connection fee.

Caruna's electricity connections are priced according to zones. The connection zone is determined by the distance from the upcoming connection to the nearest distribution transformer. The connection fee for low-voltage connections is determined based on the size of the connection's main fuses. The price is based on the average construction costs for expanding the new power grid in each zone, as well as the capacity reservation fee. The connection includes the coupling of the connection and the installation of the electricity meter.

Further details on how the connection zones are determined are provided below.

The prices of electricity connections are shown in the rates at the bottom of this page. Caruna has two network companies, Caruna Oy and Caruna Espoo Oy. Choose the rates according to which network company's territory your plot of land is located in.

Find out the price on our connection order pathway

If you can't get a price estimate on the pathway, contact our experts via chat. We will confirm the connection price in the connection contract. The contract will be void if you do not sign it within one month.

Remember to get started with your connection in good time; it may take as long as several months to determine the price for a site that requires extensive preliminary investigation. This work may include connections outside the zonal model or situations in which the network needs to be reinforced over a long distance.

Precise descriptions of the zonal pricing model

Zone 1Areas with a city plan and connections with a directly measured distance from an existing secondary substation of up to 300 metres. In shore plan areas, the zone pricing is based on distance.
Zone 2Connections with a directly measured distance from an existing secondary substation from 300–600 metres.
Zone 3Connections with a directly measured distance from an existing secondary substation from 600–800 metres. Main fuse size max. 3x35 A.
Area outside the zonesArea or case-specific pricing, where the connection fee consists of direct network expansion costs and a capacity reservation fee.

Pricing of medium voltage connections

Medium voltage connections are priced on a case-by-case basis. The connection fees for medium voltage connections consist of the direct network expansion costs and a capacity reservation fee.

We will determine the price of the medium voltage connection when you send us the details of the medium voltage connection via the connection order pathway.
