Network Service rates, Caruna Espoo Oy 1 September 2024
On this page you can see the current network service prices for Caruna Espoo Oy's distribution area (Espoo, Kauniainen, Kirkkonummi and Joensuu city centre). The Network Service fee covers, among other things, customer service, electricity metering, fault service and maintenance and development of the electricity network.
Network Service products for residential and small buildings
General Distribution
General Distribution is often used in apartment buildings and terraced houses. It is generally also the best value option for detached houses and summer houses that do not use electric heating.
- The General Distribution product is applied to mini connections.
- The use of the apartment and terraced house product requires that the electricity connection has at least three metered consumption points.

Night-time Distribution
Night-time Distribution is best suited to electric storage heating. The price of electricity distribution is lower during the night.
- Daytime distribution is in use Mon-Sun 7 am to 10 pm, Night-time Distribution Mon-Sun 10 pm to 7 am.
- The use of the apartment and terraced house product requires that the electricity connection has at least three metered consumption points.

Seasonal Distribution
Seasonal Distribution is best suited to direct electric heating. The product is worth considering if there is an opportunity to utilise alternative heating methods during the winter.

Network Service products for industry
Low voltage Power Distribution products are suitable for sites where the power requirement requires a main fuse of over 63A. Typical sites include production companies, shopping centres, farms and industrial plants.
- The metering period for the power fee is one hour, and the fee is determined by the monthly peak power. The minimum power fee is the price payable for 40 kW.
- The basis for the reactive power fee is the monthly peak reactive power minus 20% of the monthly peak active power.

We recommend the Power Distribution 2 LV product for sites where electricity consumption is over 80 megawatt hours per year, and a significant portion of consumption occurs during the summer.
- The product has a lower charge for summertime, winter nights and Sundays.

Medium voltage Power Distribution products
The products are suitable for high power needs, where electricity is supplied and measured at 20 kilovolts. Typical sites include large production plants.
- The metering period for the power fee is one hour, and the fee is determined in accordance with the monthly peak power. At medium voltage, the minimum power fee is the price payable for 200 kW.
- The basis for the reactive power fee is the monthly peak reactive power minus 20% of the monthly peak active power.

Electricity storage Network Service product
The product is intended for connections to which only electricity storage is connected. The electricity storage facility must meet the system technical requirements for electricity storage facilities set by Fingrid.
The product can also be applied to production connection points of more than 1 MVA, where there is an electricity storage facility behind the same connection point on the same property. The power plant's own energy can be included in the electricity storage product if the power plant's own power requirement is less than 500 kW. The basic fee for the power plant's own use is charged according to the normal medium voltage price list. In addition, the distribution fee for feeding production into the grid is charged normally for the power plant.
- A power fee is charged according to the installed nominal power.
- No Reactive power fee is charged when the electricity storage system operates in voltage control.

Additional information
Use of back-up connections
In addition to the main product, you may also conclude a contract concerning back-up connections. Every back-up connection must have a dedicated electricity connection, and the network product is the Power Distribution 1 MV without Power and Reactive power fees.
You can only use the back-up connection for temporary purposes for a maximum of two days per month. If there is a greater need for a back-up connection, we collect normal power fees for using the back-up connection.
Network Service product for fixed-term needs
A Network Service product for fixed-term needs does not require a written connection contract. This fixed term Network Service product is used for purposes such as supplying electricity to trade fairs or music events.
The distribution product is General Distribution, in larger sites Power Distribution 1 LV or Power Distribution 1 MV. We collect double the Basic Fee and the Power Fee applicable to the product. We charge a connection fee for connection to the electricity network in accordance with the current Service Fee price list.
Network Service product for electricity connection maintenance
If you do not need electricity at your metering point but you do not want to deactivate the electricity connection, you can close your connection temporarily. This is referred to as placing it into maintenance.
If an electricity connection under maintenance is reconnected to service less than a year after being put into maintenance, we collect a fee in accordance with the Service Fee price list.

Sales correction from 1 December 2024
When Caruna amends invoicing in accordance with the network service terms and conditions for electricity sales (VPE2024, section 8.6.4.), we use the Nord Pool electricity exchange's Finnish regional price (hourly average) as the price increased by a margin of 0.3 c/kWh (VAT 25.5%).
