Welcome to Caruna
We are your electricity distributor, and we make sure around the clock that you have electricity.
If the electricity supply is cut off, we locate and repair the fault as quickly as possible. We measure your electricity consumption and send the information to Datahub, where your electricity supplier receives consumption data for billing. We build and strengthen the power grid so that you can use electricity whenever you want.
You can find more information about our useful and free services on this page. Enjoy reading!
You receive two electricity bills - why?
When you purchase electricity, you have two agreements: an electricity network agreement with Caruna, the electricity distributor, and an electricity sales agreement with the electricity retailer of your choice. That's why you receive two bills - one for the network service from Caruna and the other for the electrical energy from your electricity retailer.
The electricity retailer procures the amount of electrical energy you need from the production plant, and Caruna is responsible for delivering the electricity to you. We provide you with electricity and take care of the transmission connections, i.e. the electricity networks. We also handle the electricity tax on your behalf in connection with invoicing and pay it to the state.
Did you buy a property?
If you have bought a property and agreed in the deed of sale to transfer the electricity connection to you, please notify us of the change using the form. We do not receive information through any other means.
An electricity connection refers to the right to use electricity on your plot and the electricity network physically located on the plot, through which the property is connected to Caruna's network. Once we have transferred the electricity connection to your name, you can see the connection information in Caruna+ and make changes if necessary.
If the power goes out...
... We will send you a notification via SMS or/and email, unless there is a short power outage of up to three minutes. After receiving the message, you can be sure that we are aware of the power outage. We aim to restore electricity as soon as possible. If you haven't received a notification from us, first check that the fault is not in your property.
On the power outage map, you can see the outages that we are aware of. If the power outage is not shown on the map and you have checked that it is not due to a fault in the property, please contact us in the map chat (24 h). In the chat, you can also report if you see a damaged power line, transformer substation, or distribution cabinet.
Monitor your own electricity consumption
You can monitor your own electricity consumption with hourly accuracy in Caruna+ Energy Monitoring. The measurement data is updated with a delay of about a day. If you use electricity for heating a property or domestic water, you can also see the effect of temperature on your electricity consumption.
If for any reason we are unable to contact your electricity meter, we will estimate your electricity consumption based on your consumption in previous weeks. You can see the estimate in Energy Monitoring. When the connection is restored, the estimated consumption is replaced by the actual measurement.
Other useful information
Are you away for a longer period?
If needed, you can turn off the electricity using the 0 button on the front panel of the electricity meter. Only turn off the electricity at the main switch during electrical work. If you turn off the electricity at the main switch at other times, we will not be able to contact the electricity meter and therefore will not receive information about electricity consumption or power outages.
Is your home or domestic water heated by electricity?
In this case, your home may have load control, which means that the electricity meter controls the start of heating. If you are unsure, you can check with your electrical contractor. From 15 different options, you can choose the most suitable heating time for you - and change it as needed.
Are you planning an electric car charging station?
As the owner of a detached house or cottage, or as a member of the board of directors of a housing company, you can see the actual peak power of the property's electricity connection and the available capacity of the electricity network in Caruna+. Based on this information, you can estimate with your electrical contractor how much additional power can be connected to the electricity connection, such as charging points for electric cars.
Add a representative to your Caruna+ account
